If you have used a conventional website to promote a home business in the past, you may not have been aware of the power of a work from home blog. It has really changed the way business is done, and opened up the internet to many people who up to now did not have the technical ability to operate a website.

For example, today you see many people forsaking the traditional website in favor of a blog. Why would they decide to take this path to promote a business working from home? Well, there are a number of reasons.

1. A work from home blog is extremely easily to publish. To take one example, by using Wordpress or Blogger.com as your blogging platform, all you have to do is spend three minutes setting it up and you are ready to begin publishing.

Using a template such as Blogger or Wordpress gives you the chance to add content to your site without the need to learn complicated HTML code. This makes it extremely easy for the work from home business owner to update content and add pages to it.

2. A work from home blog is an excellent way to keep your customers and prospects up to date on what is going on in your business. Many people choose to use their blogs not only as a sales tool, but also as a training tool.

This makes a lot of sense because it allows you to recruit new prospects into your business at a future date, when you are keeping them updated and building your credibility.

3. Another thing a work from home blog can do is help you build a mailing list, and an email marketing business. Use the sidebar on your blog to include a form for sign-ups, which will now be included in each new page you add to your site.

As your business continues to grow, you never know where a person will find you. By doing this, you will start to attract viewers to your site via your blogging posts, and many of your websites inner pages, rather than solely from your main site page.

By having a sign up form on every page, you can add new subscribers and follow-up with them in the future. This is known as building an opt in list, and is an extremely powerful asset for you to have in the future of your business.

4. One final point that we want to make about a work from home blog is you can monetize it in various ways. You can add banners for affiliate programs for example, and earn commissions whenever someone clicks on them and makes a purchase.

You can also add Google Adsense ads very easily to your blog, and earn commissions whenever someone clicks on a subscriber's ad. These are just a few reasons why work from home blogs are so powerful.
